Rough Drift

"Small" writing challenges for my small writing talent. Hotel note pads are the only space allowed. Let's see if I can strip it down and tighten it up to learn something. Improving my skill of weird fiction.

81.) Agony

Terrible burning germinated small spots of blood on Bob’s delicate face. His shame glared in the hotel mirror with pursed lips and a head shake. Another pass removed another stripe of cheap complimentary foam with a cheap complimentary razor. Hot pain retrieved images to the front of his mind; snow shovels scraping concrete driveways in winter. Another dot of blood. A top office with top men was in his future, and he looked like he missed ending it all – twenty times. A collar and tie would hide little. Bob swore out loud he would never again forget his razor.

(Author’s notes) Hotels provide what you forget. At least with reputable ones. Forget your shaving kit and they’ll gladly help you out. Secretly, I think they hate anyone who forgets, as they deal out a punishment one has to take because they have no other choice. I had this happen, once. Once.

Another note.  The top was with the 9850 HB pencil I just wrote about, the rewrite below was with the Blackwing 602, and beneath that the Kuru Toga 0.5mm mechanical. I’ll have more thoughts in a later posting from more evaluations.
